Using our passion for skating to show compassion to others.
As of May 30, 2010 we have delivered 1025 meals!
I began this program as a one time event for Christmas 2009. I felt it was important for the kids that I worked with as team manager for a local Skateshop to reach out and do something for the community. When I presented the idea I expected maybe 1 or 2 people to express interest initially. When almost 15 signed up I was ecstatic and began to believe this could become something more than a 1 time event.

For our first trip we put together 100 sack lunches and distributed them to the homeless in downtown Las Vegas. The response from the people we gave the lunches to was spectacular...I think seeing the kids ride up on their skateboards and offer them something to eat was quite a shock to them! It was also a great experience for those of us that went on the trip.

We use the City Hall parking garage as a meeting place. It is located between Las Vegas Blvd & 4th St on the south side of Stewart I have a google map on the Pics & Vids page as well
There are entrances on 4th and LV Blvd.
Parking is metered, but I'll always bring a roll of quarters.
The garage is a little bit of a ride from the shelters, but it's the closest safe, legal place I could find to park

We have found that it works best for all of us to stay together as a group. We start off heading to the Las Vegas Rescue Mission at Bonanza and D St and then work our way along Washington Street and then down to the group of shelters at Main & Foremaster.
I would like to see everybody that is skating/riding wearing a helmet...Please

We usually meet at my house the morning of the outreach trip to put together all the bags. Takes about an hour if we have 5 or 6 people.
Each sack lunch includes a turkey sandwich, several small snacks, granola bar, pudding cup & spoon, juice box / water. Other items will be added as they are available. See the Donations page for ideas.

Just a few things I would like you to remember
Anybody and everybody is welcome to come along and help out. Skaters, Rollerbladers, BMX, Friends, Parents, all are welcome
MOST IMPORTANTLY - BE SAFE. If you ever feel uncomfortable, please let one of the adults know right away
Please be respectful and compassionate towards the people we meet.
If somebody is mean or rude, just move on...Please don't say anything back.
If you are approached by the police, DO NOT TAKE OFF, Stop, be polite and let me or one of the adults know right away..But most importantly comply with their instructions. If they are wrong, I will deal with that later.
Be mindful of dogs...Many homeless people have dogs....But chances are they are not vaccinated
